I don’t know if you saw it yesterday (ok, you probably did), but Eli Manning left the game against the Chiefs after he dropped back and injured his heel.
Well, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the NY Daily News, Eli showed up to the facility today with “some swelling and soreness” in that heel.¬† He is scheduled for an MRI this afternoon, and I don’t care what the Giants say, they are worried.

Remember Dan Marino and Vinny Testaverde?¬† It doesn’t take much, you only have to plant your foot the wrong way once and your Achilles will pop.¬† I don’t know that it’s that serious, but if something did happen to his Achilles then there is a good chance that he’s done for the year.¬† If that’s the case, cross the Giants off the list of possible teams that could win the NFC East.¬† David Carr may have been the #1 overall pick in 2002, but he’s a backup and on his third team for a reason.¬† He stinks.
Keep a close eye on this one.¬† It’s not believed to be a big deal right now, but we’ll see what happens with the MRI.¬†
