They Doubled Jackson And Maclin Killed Them

Maclin on the run The Tampa Bay defense did everything they could to take away wide recevier DeSean Jackson.  They were successful in taking him away but that allowed Jeremy Maclin to kill them.

He’s been working hard and obviously gaining the confidence of the Eagles coaches and quarterbacks.  After awhile, McNabb was throwing to him exclusively.

Maclin did a great job by running by defenders with that long stride he has.  The defenders have no idea how fast he’s running until he’s going by him.

He caught six passes on the day for 142 yards and two touchdowns.  It’s the first time an Eagles rookie has caught two touchdown passes of 40 yards or more in one game.

The first touchdown catch he caught from Donovan McNabb was a piece of cake.  Maclin beat his man by three or four yards.

On the second touchdown pass, Maclin wasn’t open when McNabb let the ball go but he pulled away and went and got it.  This shows the confidence McNabb has in the rookie.

I saw some up and back coverages from Tampa Bay when they had a cornerback crowding him short on the line and they had a safety on him deep.  Numerous times they tried to hold him up on the line.

They were also using an in and out coverage, where the cornerback takes inside or outside and the safety takes the opposite.
