As if we haven’t been offerred enough proof about the pathetic state of the Oakland Raiders franchise, here’s more evidence.
They’re taking a big sigh of releif in the Raiders front office because it doesn’t look like their head coach Tom Cable will be arrested for assaulting one of their assistant coaches, Randy Hanson.
Wouldn’t that have looked great if a police officer had come on the sidelines and cuffed the head coach during the game and took him off to jail?
It’s not going to happen because the stories of the other witnesses to the reported fight between Cable and Hanson didn’t corroborate with Hanson’s claims and that will mean that the head coach is probably in the clear.
Hanson, the former assistant coach, who said he had been assaulted by Cable refuses to give up on the case and said he was willing to take a lie detector to prove what he said was true.
The other witnesses, who had contradicted his claim are Raiders assistant coaches John Marshall, Willie Brown, and Lionel Washington.
Do you think any pressure was placed on those assistant coaches to disagree with Hanson’s story?
The whole controversy involves an incident during the preseason which involved Hanson and Cable and resulted in Hanson having his jaw broken and two of this teeth cracked.
“I will take a lie detector test and a drug test, and I will pay for it – and I’ll pay for Tom Cable to take those tests as well,” Hanson said.
