Andy Reid was very honest when he said the Eagles were outcoached and outplayed.
The Raiders were able to keep constant pressure on Donovan McNabb and the Eagles never solved the Raiders blitzing.
Oakland defenders came from every direction and were able to get to McNabb consistently. They pounded him and never allowed him to get comfortable in the pocket.
The offensive line was awful. Winston Justice, Max Jean-Gilles, Jamaal Jackson, Nick Cole and King Dunlap all took turns getting beaten.
They were run over, run around and run through all day long.
The Raiders blitzed and pressured McNabb from the start of the game to the end and the Eagles never adjusted.
It was a poor display of NFL football. The Eagles slept through the game against an inspired Raiders team which had been ticked off by some comments made by Giants middle linebacker Antonio Pierce.
After the Giants had destroyed the Raiders, Pierce said that playing against the Raiders was like playing in a scrimmage. He said the Raiders played without any emotion and weren’t really trying very hard.
Today he could have said that about the Eagles. They were going through the motions and not playing with any emotion.
I wasn’t surprised at seeing King Dunlap getting bench pressed back into McNabb’s face. The Eagles pass rushers do it ball the time.
Would somebody give Max Jean-Gilles and Nick Cole the snap count? A number of times they were still in their stances after the ball had been snapped.
I expect Oakland defensive lineman Richard Seymour to send the Eagles offensive line a bill for the lesson he taught them today. He schooled them.
We can’t ignore the fact that McNabb missed some open receivers and there were a number of dropped passes as well.
