McNabb Must Deal With The Pass Rush Pressure

McNabb throwing the ball Donovan McNabb will have to accept the fact that he’s going to get pounded many times when he drops into the pocket this season.

This offensive line isn’t as good as the line he has played behind in the past.  This group gets overpowered and beaten on a regular basis.  McNabb will have to adjust to it because I don’t think they’re going to get any better.

So far, Jason Peters, Winston Justice or one of the other offensive lineman get beat once or twice a game.  Rookie LeSean McCoy will continue to miss a block here or there.

I wish I thought it was going to stop but I don’t think it’s going to stop.  Still he can’t assume he’s going to get hit.

I know his ribs haven’t healed and I know that getting a helmet in the back can be unnerving, but he’s going to have to deal with it and be more accurate with his throws.

He has let the pressure get to him in the last couple of games.  He’s not setting his feet properly and the hits have him rushing his throws.

McNabb is going to have to either take off and run or set his feet and throw the ball accurately.

McNabb on the run Things aren’t going to get easier with the Giants next up on the schedule.  They have lost two games in a row and have a defensive line that can take over a game.

The Birds have trouble just putting the ball on the ground and gaining any yardage, so that means McNabb is going to have to make something happen through the air.

To compound the problems, McNabb will probably be without Brian Westbrook because of the concussion he suffered on Monday night.

If I could give him some advice for Sunday, I would tell him to double up on the flack jackets, wear two of them this week.

In additon, I would buy some gifts for Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora.  Maybe they’ll take it easy on him if he gives them gifts before the game.
