I think you’re going to see more of Jeremiah Trotter this week when the Eagles play the Giants.
Eagles defensive coordinator Sean McDermott didn’t want to show his hand but he said you need a big body in the middle when you’re trying to stop this big, physical running games found in the NFC East.
Will Witherspoon is a very good athlete for a linebacker but he’s not physical at the point of attack.
Trotter is known for not only beating up the running back when he tries to go through the hole, he will beat up the offensive linemen who is trying to block for the running back.
Big running back Brandon Jacobs will be out there this weekend and you know the Giants would like to get him going. Jacobs is about 265 pounds.
Trotter is listed at 250 pounds but he may be bigger.
The interesting thing I want to see is how do the Eagles stop the Giants from getting Trotter isolated on pass plays. They’re going to send him in there on running situations but that doesn’t mean the Giants have to run the football.
