Yankees manager Joe Girardi just told the media at Citizen’s Bank Park that they’re going to send C.C. Sabathia out against the Phils Joe Blanton in game 4.
Sabathia has demonstrated in the past that he has the ability to pitch well on three days rest.
The Phils do have a good history against Sabathia. Of course they beat him in the first game when Chase Utley hit a couple of home runs and Cliff Lee pitched a masterpiece.
Quite a few Phillies fans have wondered why Charlie Manuel doesn’t have Lee go on three days rest so he can match up against Sabathia.
This puts more pressure on Cole Hamels and the Phils to get the job done tonight and not put the team in a must win situation.
