I had said all week that the Donovan McNabb could pick apart the Giants secondary if he was given the time.
I had no idea thatthose comments would turn out to be so true.
It started with a guy who we haven’t seen a lot of so far this season. Fullback Leonard Weaver finally got the chance to show how good of a football ball player he is.
He took off on a long 41 yard touchdown run up the middle. The Giants safety thought they were going to run him down but they couldn’t close on the big fella.
Next up McNabb hit budding superstar tight end Brett Celek down the middle for a 17-yard score. This hookup came after another touchdown pass to Celek was called back because of a holding penalty.
I like the way Celek is becoming a force across the middle in the red zone. He also did a great job of getting a first down later in the game when he refused to go down and used his arm to stay on his feet.
The McNabb 54-yard touchdown pass to DeSean Jackson was ridiculous because I don’t understand how this guy gets so open. Honestly on this particular play, Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg saw something in the Giants pass coverage and took advantage of it.
Jackson is getting to the point where they’re going to have to rule him illegal because he makes defenders look so bad.
McNabb made a great throw to Jeremy Maclin who was well covered but did a great job of screening off the defender and coming down with the ball.
Next up LeSean McCoy split the Giants defense on a quick hitter with Jackson coming around on a reverse fake. The rookie ran through a couple of arm tackles, got in behind Maclin got into the endzone.
