Brian Westbrook is practicing again, feeling good and ready to go in preparation for the Dallas Cowboys.
This will reduce the few hours of sleep Cowboys head coach and defensive coordinator Wade Phillips will get going into this game.
He has been looking at the tape of the Eagles taking the Giants apart then he has to worry about the Eagles adding another explosive weapon.
Westbrook talked about how good he felt at the start of the Washington game until he sustained the concussion. He said his ankle felt good and so did his knee.
The veteran running back said he could tell he was moving well, quick enough to get around the corner and capable of making people miss at the start of that game.
Dallas will have to worry about Westbrook running the football, coming out of the backfield on pass routes and running screens when the opportunity presents itself.
Brian was very honest about how bad that Monday night was for him and his family. He sustained a concussion and his brother, Byron who was playing for the Redskins, hurt his knee and had to undergo surgery because of it.
Westbrook was concerned about the concussion he suffereed because he had never had one before and didn’t know much about it. Eagles head trainer Rick Burkholder has taught him a great deal about the history of the injury.
Westbrook talked about how it has shortened the careers of players and he doesn’t want that to happen to him.
Head coach Andy Reid is pleased to have him back and in good health.
His quarterback Donovan McNabb said that Westbrook’s presence in the lineup will open up opportunities for other players to make plays.
McNabb said teams have to account for Westbrook which makes defenders unavailable to defend other players. I expect the Birds to try to get Westbrook on a mismatch in the open field.
