It was an awful loss last night be the Eagles because it was a winnable game. Again head coach Andy Reid made some horrible decisions with the game on the line.
Reid seemed to be a fog when he threw the red challenge flag once and then twice. He lost both challenges and put the Eagles defense’s back up against the wall and they weren’t able to stop Dallas from getting a first down with the clock running out.
Rarely will officials change a spot on a first down call. I know it seemed liike the Eagles got shorted but Reid decided to go for it on fourth down any way.
If he knew he was going to go for the first down on fourth down, he didn’t need to blow the time out on third down.
Of course the Eagles wound up trailing 20-16 with nearly four and half minutes remaining on the clock and no timeouts left to stop the clock.
Why does this happen to Reid so much? Yes he’s a winning coach but so many close games get away from him because of poor clock management and poor decision making on third downs.
Why didn’t giv e the ball to the bigger and more powerful Leonard Weaver on second and third down.
Weaver has shown that he’s tough to stop for less than a yard because he weighs 240 and he runs straight ahead.
He hits the hole hard and he hits it quick. Why in that situation does he give the ball to the smaller LeSean McCoy? It doesn’t make any sense.
Reid decided not go for the first down but opted to take a 52-yard field goal try, despite the fact that the Cowboys were running the ball well and the Eagles were out of timeouts.
Andy Reid teams have been mismanaging the clock and blowing timeouts since he has been the coach.
He hasn’t been able to improve it despite the fact that each time something screws up, he says he’s going to correct it.
I still he does a lot of things well but his weaknesses in these areas have cost this team far too many games.
