I like the Eagles young linebacker Moise Fokou but he makes some of the dumbest and more costly penalties.
Ellis Hobbs catches the kickoff to start the second half. He follows his wedge-type blocking up the gut, hits a seam and is off to the races.
He runs the ball in for a touchdown which is a huge play because it puts the Birds in the lead.
At the same split second that Hobbs hits the opening in the Dallas Cowboys kick-off coverage, I see a yellow flag thrown in the background.
It’s thrown because rookie Fokou is holding a defender who had no chance to make the play.
This is just foolish. Holding a guy who wasn’t going to make the play any way is just stupid. That’s losing football and this kid has been doing it all season long.
On another play Eagles cornerback Sheldon Brown intercepted a pass and returned deep into Cowboys territory.
Brown was making his cuts upfield, when Fokou threw a cut block on an offensive lineman who had no chance of making the play. Again that is stupid football.
I like this kid because he plays hard but he’s got to start playing smarter.
