Former Phialdelphia 76ers superstar Allen Iverson became a free agent today, because he and the Memphis Grizzlies have decided to part ways.
Of course the first question around here would abe: Are the Sixers be interested in him? And would he be interested in rejoining the Sixers.
I would doubt it even though the Sixers are a team without anybody to draw fans to the Wachovia Center. They play in front of an empty center and are trying to create something to draw a crowd.
They seem to be going in different directions. The Sixers are trying to create something new and exciting while Iverson is trying to recapture the playmaking ability he had in yesteryear.
Many times the Sixers play without fire which Iverson could ignite to a degree. He can’t do the things he used to do, but he is still a big name and could possibly draw some fans to this arena.
