Reid Elated About Come From Behind Win

McCoy running with the footballAndy Reid was thrilled that the Birds were able to come from behind in the fourth quarter and get the win last night against the Bears.

Everybody had a hand in the victory.  I thought it was truly a team win.

Reid stayed with rookie running back LeSean McCoy, despite the fact that he had fumbled.  The kid thanked him for his trust by running for 99 yards on 20 carries and a game-winning ten yard touchdown run.

The Eagles offensive coaching staff did a good job of being innovative when they started the game with a no huddle offense.  They thought they could get an advantage on the Chicago defense and not allow them to substitute.

After the game, Andy singled out left tackle Jason Peters, who played despite a high ankle sprain.  I applaud him as well and hope that he will be reliable for this football team.  You’ve got to be able to play with injuries in the NFL.

Avant scores He mentioned fullback Leonard Weaver, who played despite a high ankle sprain and did a good job of leading McCoy’s running attempts.

Reid said Sheldon Brown set the tempo by playing despite a slight hamstring tear. Again I applaud him for getting out there and playing despite having an excuse.

Reid said they got the chance to play both Jeremiah Trotter and Joe Mays at the middle linebacker position.  I thought Trotter had a good game with four tackles and he did a good job of covering Matt Forte out of the backfield.

He was positive in talking about Michael Vick and the job that he did early in the game to help the Birds set up a field goal.  They finally found a play which would work.

He ran a quarterback draw up the middle and put the Birds in position to score on the first drive.
