Eagles Youngsters Must Stop The Turnovers

McCoy scoring winning touchdownNormally when you turn the ball over three times and the other team turns it over only once, you lose the game.

On Sunday night the Eagles beat the odds and won despite the turnovers.  They can’t depend on that happening any more this season.

If the Eagles can’t eliminate the turnovers, they won’t make the playoffs.

Second year phenom DeSean Jackson was stripped of the ball twice and he was outmuscled for an interception.

Teams will look at the video of the game and try to get physical with Jackson.  The plan is going to be rough up Jackson and he’ll give you the ball.

They haven’t been able to stop him by trying to run with him, so forcing him to turn the ball over seems like a good idea.

He’s a little guy with little hands and little arms, but he’s got to find a way to protect the footballl.

jackson comes down with touchdown pass His blazing speed makes it very hard for teams to get a good shot on him, so they’re going to try to different things to stop him.

The same is true of rookie running back LeSean McCoy.  The Bears did a good job of punching the ball loose becasue McCoy was alerted before the game that the Bears were intent on going after the football.

Still the Eagles can’t afford to turn the ball over.

McCoy will probably be the featured ball carrier the rest of the way, so he must find a way to secure the football.

He’s shown he has the talent to make the cuts and the decisions when he has the football but he has to stay away from fumbling.

I feel comfortable saying that if the Eagles keep the turnovers to a minimum, they’ll probably find their way into the playoffs.
