I read Paul Domowitch’s article about Donovan McNabb this morning and couldn’t agree with him more about his thinking that the Eagles quarterback will probably find his way into the Hall of Fame.
Yes he has shortcomings but his accomplishments both in yardage, touchdown passes, lack of interceptions and wins, are more than enough to get him in the Hall.
I, like so many Eagles fans, am frustrated that McNabb and the Eagles don’t have a Super Bowl championship but I realize that teams win Super Bowls and not individuals.
I look at the individual quarterback and analyze how he is doing his job and not whether his defense plays well or not.
Some people want to analyze the way a player does interviews and how he stands on the sideline and the way he runs out of the tunnel, but I don’t care about that kind of nonsense.
Most of the time, interviews are nothing more than a player telling people what he thinks they want to hear. Media gobbles it up but it doesn’t have very much legitimacy.
I also don’t care how his mother feels about the team when he’s hurt. I don’t care what his father says.
When I analayze a player, I’m not planning on bringing him hime to marry my daughter. I’m just looking for somebody who can make plays on the football field and stay out of trouble with the law.
