By now, you’ve probably heard about the passing of Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry.¬† It’s a tragic story as just about everyone that was around him said that he had finally gotten his life together.Henry was involved in a domestic dispute when his fiancee tried to drive off in a pickup truck.¬† Henry decided to jump in the back of the truck and was later thrown out.¬† He died this morning after a brief period on life support.
A few details have emerged, however, as TMZ has gotten a hold of the 911 calls.¬† According to TMZ, the woman inside the truck told the 911 operator that he was “shirtless” and beating on the back window of the truck.¬† She also said that his arm was in a cast, which makes perfect sense since he has been on injured reserve for several weeks with a forearm injury.¬†
A second person also called 911 after Henry had been thrown from the truck, telling the operator “there’s a man is in the road … he looks dead … there’s no movement.”¬†
I also just read where they are assigning homicide detectives to the case, so this one is far from over. 
This all just paints a really sad picture.¬† If it was two years ago and you told me that Henry was killed in a bar fight, I wouldn’t have thought anything of it.¬† But here is a guy that finally got himself headed in the right direction and then something like this happens in a domestic dispute.¬† I don’t know what happened, but I know they bought wedding rings earlier in the day.¬† Obviously, something went really south between that purchase and being thrown out of a pickup truck.¬†
