The Birds got in their work today inside their bubble on their turf field. They diidn’t give a reason for going inside but it must have been the wind.
The cold weather will be their friend on Sunday since the Niners will be coming in from California.
The Birds also started a bit early today. Brian Westbrook getting in some plays on the scout team.
Kevin Curtis looks like he’s got his legs back and he’ll be in the mix this weekend. He took quite a few of the reps at the split end position opposite DeSean Jackson.
Reggie Brown is getting plenty of work. They benefit from having experienced veterans like Curtis and Brown on the bench and available.
I enjoyed seeing Westbrook turning on the speed as he went down the sideline.
He had a big smile on his face as he ran back to the huddle. I could tell he was beiing challenged by linebacker Akeem Jordan about who was faster.
This is the fun of playing pro football and I could see in Westbrook’s body language that he was enjoying himself..
Playing this game extends your youth as you laugh and joke with your buddies on the team.
A back injury the limited work for tight end Brent Celek as backup Alex Smith took most of the reps.
Donovan McNabb was out there throwing lazers to his receivers today. It’s all coming together for him and the team. These guys are working hard and having a good time on top of it.
With McNabb, Jackson and Michael Vick as well numerous others playing roles, the Birds are becoming one of the best shows in the league.
I could tell by listening to Mike Singletary yesterday on the conference call that the Niners will have to come after McNabb to shutdown all the weapons the Birds have.
They got after Kurt Warner and banged up Larry Fitzgerald to shut down the Cardinals, now we’ll see if they can derail another speeding locamotive.
I don’t think this job will be as easy.
Still they know that there’s nothing to talk about until you qualify for the second season, which is the playoffs.
