Brown Starting, Curtis Playing, Maclin & BWest Out

Brown on the run Jeremy Maclin will miss Sunday’s game, so Reggie Brown will get his first start since 2007 and Kevin Curtis will see his first action when the Birds take the field on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Andy Reid also said that Brian Westbrook wouldn’t play this weekend.  He said the running back hasn’t be cleared to play as of yet, but is making progress.

Reid said he doesn’t know how much Curtis will play but they want to get him back in the mix.  He had arthrocopic surgery a number of weeks ago and is trying to get all his speed and quickness back.

Brent Celek practiced today and will play on Sunday.  He’s been having problems with his back and you can tell that it’s stiff, by the way he walks.

Curtis makes the catch I think he’ll have the chance to put up some big numbers on Sunday because the Niners will leave their backers on a tight end because they’re all very good athletes.

Maclin hasn’t practiced this week, but I saw him walking through the lockeroom and he wasn’t limping very much, so he must be getting better.

I think this a big game for Curtis because he’ll get the chance to show the entire league what he’s able to do after recovering from the knee injury.
