The Saints Aren’t Playing At High Level Any More

Brees Gets SackedMost of the so-called football experts, who were giving the NFC Championship to the New Orleans Saints, now have to step back and rethink everything.

For NFL fans who look at what happens on the field as compared to what’s being written and said by so-called experts, realize that the Saints had been struggled for awhile now.

They had to get lucky to beat the Redskins and struggled to beat the Chris Redman-led Atlanta Falcons.

Their defense is clearly nothing to write home about but their offense which was unstoppable for much of the season, isn’t operating on the same level it was earlier in the season.

They could only muster 17 points against the Cowboys at home in their dome where they were supposed to be unbeatable.

The bottomline is that the Saints peaked earlier in the season and they’re not as good of a football team as they were earlier in the season.

In the playoffs, your record isn’t as important as how you’re playing when the playoffs start.

Austin scores first for Cowboys This is the reason that I like the Eagles position in the playoff situation because they have been getting better each week.

I could see the Eagles continuing to get better and better well into the playoffs.

The Saints on the hand, have a better record but they must pickup their level of play.

I must give the Cowboys credit for playing a very good game on Saturday night.  They started fast and held on to get the W.

On both sides of the ball they played very well.

The offense was able to finish by putting points on the board early and their defense showed they were one of the few defenses which was able to get to Drew Brees.

Dallas is playing like a team that desperately wants to go to the playoffs.  And I could see them creating problems once they get there.

Minnesota is an outstanding football team, but like the Saints, I don’t think they’re playing their best football right now.

I think the race to be the team that represents the NFC in the Super Bowl is wide open, which means the Eagles have a great chance to be that team if they continue improving.
