On one hand you have the return to Philly of Brian Dawkins, who was one of the most beloved players to every play for the Eagles.
On the other hand you have Eagles superstar wide receiver, DeSean Jackson who creates more and more fear amongst NFL defensive backs and coordinators.
The Eagles are one team with Jackson and another team without him.
Dawkins was a head-hunting safety when he played for the Eagles and he is doing the same job for the Broncos. He makes receivers pay for catching the ball in his area and he never turns down a hit.
Will he get a shot at Jackson on Sunday?
There’s no way to stop Jackson by just trying to cover him. You have to slow down his release off the line of scrimmage and get physical with him as much as possible.
The only way he’s been stopped this year has been when he got pounded by Redskins middle linebacker London Fletcher and suffered a concussion.
I expect the rest of the Eagles opponents totry to hit him and hit him hard.
We’ve seen Dawkins layout receivers but will he get the get the shot to layoff Jackson.
I don’t want to see the Eagles put Jackson in a position to get pounded.
I don’t think they should use him on a lot of slant routes and other inside routes because teams are going to try to get shots on him.
At the same time, Dawkins had better not get in a foot race with Jackson or he will wind up getting smoked.
Keep an eye on #10 in an Eagles jersey and keep an eye on #20 in a Broncos jersey.
It should be very interesting.
