Broncos “O” Isn’t High-Powered Like The Birds

Marshall on the run In much the same setup as last week against the Niners, the Eagles will be playing against an inferior offense and they need to get out to a quick lead and make the opposing offense one dimensional.

I just don’t think the Denver Broncos can put points on the board fast enough and often to stay with the Eagles high powered offense.

If the Birds stay away from turnovers, I don’t see any way they lose to the Broncos.

Despite the fact that he’s throwing the ball to one of the best receivers in football, Brandon Marshall,  I still am not in awe of the Broncos passing game led by Kyle Orton.  I think he is a mediocre quarterback at best.

Orton under pressure in the pocket I feel confident about the Birds being able to get to him with the blitz, but I don’t want see them make a habit of leaving Marshall in one-on-one situations.

Marshall is about 6’4″ 225 pounds.  He’s got great hands but doesn’t have big time deep speed.

Orton doesn’t have a big arm but he is a smart quarterback who will read the blitz most of the time.

Denver has to put together long drives because they don’t have the game breakers which the Birds have.

Former Eagles running Correll Buckhalter teams with rookie Knowshon Moreno in the Broncos offfensive backfield.  They run hard but they’re not the type of running game which can dominate and take over the game.

The Broncos will employ a balanced ball control attack. They will try to keep the ball away from the Eagles explosive offense by putting together 12, 15 and 18 play scoring drive which eat up the clock.

Of course turnovers, settling for field goals or letting the Birds grab a lead would put a wrench in those plans.
