The Eagles will meet and have a short, walk-thru type workout this morning at the Nova Care Complex and then they’ll jump on their chartered flight to Dallas early in the afternoon.
Andy Reid believes in keeping the practice times and travel plans the same week after week. They have been treating every game like it was a playoff game and their attention to detail and focus has helped them put together this six-game winning streak.
Attention to detail and focus will play a major role in which team wins this football game.
This Eagles-Cowboys game is going to be decided by a big play here or a turnover there. I think it’s going to be close, which makes me favor the Eagles.
As much as Eagles fans want to call out Reid and Donovan McNabb for not winning a Super Bowl, they have to give them credit for being very successful in winning big regular season and early playoff games.
They don’t give out passes to the NFC Championship games at the senior citizen’s bingo game. You have to earn it and if you don’t believe that ask Wade Phillips and Tony Romo. Neither of them has ever won a playoff game. Not one.
Phillips was on the wrong end of the Music City miracle.
He stood on the sidelines as Romo let the field goal snap go through his hands in Seattle and Dallas lost a playoff heart-breaker to the Seahawks.
He coached a favored number one-seeded Cowboys team with 13 Pro Bowlers at Texas Stadium, which let the Giants come into their house and beat them on their way to a Super Bowl title.
Romo was running a supposedly unstoppable offense, which self-destructed in front of the nation.
In what was like a playoff game, he saw his team get blown out of the stadium, 44-6, last year at Lincoln Financial Field in a game, which saw Romo make mistake after mistake.
How could anybody pick Phillips and Romo over Reid and McNabb when they come into this game with a track record like that?
If their records were switched do you think Philadelphia fans and media would be confident. I don’t think so.
You can believe Dallas fans will be watching with a great deal of doubt.
Cowboys fans can talk about past Super Bowl titles but Troy Aikman will be calling the game for Fox. Michael Irvin and Jimmy Johnson will be involved in pre-game shows. Emmitt Smith will probably watching from a luxury box.
What they won’t be doing is playing or coaching and that has to make Cowboys fans very nervous.
