Everything is about Saturday now. Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb have to focus on Saturday and get everybody’s mind off of yesterday by taking the blame.
This morning they need to look at the video of the game, correct mistakes which could affect the upcoming contest and then burn it.
Let the Cowboys keep celebrating, but the Birds must move on emotionally. There’s no time to sit and feel sorry for yourselves.
They’re working with a short week and they don’t have time for guys to be dwelling on what happened in Dallas on Sunday unless it is constructive in getting them ready to the playoff game.
You may not like the way Reid comes out after every loss and takes the hit, but it allows him to go to his players behind the scenes and ask more out of them.
If McNabb will take the hit for the loss publicly, he can go to his weapons and tell them he needs them to step up and his young teammates are going to do everything and more to try to step up on Saturday.
There were positives in the game and they were the opportunities which were there for the taking. DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin have room to operate underneath because the Cowboys are trying to take away the deep throws.
The intermediate throws are there. Brent Celek can’t be covered by a linebacker in one on one situations. He was open on Sunday and he’ll be open again on Saturday.
I want to see them get Leonard Weaver into the mix.
The Eagles know they can play much better, so they should go into the game with tremendous confidence.
The only people and opinions who should matter right now are the people in the locker room. They’re the only ones who can find a way to win this football game.
