I think the six-game win streak and glowing praise which was starting to be bestowed on the Birds helped get them off of their game and contributed to an awful performance in Dallas.
This total beatdown which the Eagles suffered at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys will serve as a teaching moment for the younger players on the football team.
You can’t start feeling too good about yourself and living off of past performance in the NFL.
This is a “what have you done for me lately” league and nobody is thinking or talking about the six-game winning streak today or all the Pro Bowl selections.
They’re going to hear things said and written about them in the next five days which will shock them. The same fan base which was singing their praises on Saturday has little good to say about them right now.
There shouldn’t be any crying or complaining about it. They should be focusing on correcting all the mistakes which they made. Their focus should be on coming out and playing with some fire next Saturday in Texas.
This is the National Football League and it’s the reason you shouldn’t get too elated with a win unless it’s the last game of the year in the Super Bowl. All the other wins must be greated with a muted celebration because it’s not the big one.
If you celebrate other wins too much, it hurts your game the next week.
