Some injury notes

Michael Vick is listed as probable right now and there are some who think that he’ll play a key role this week in Dallas.¬† Count me as not being one of them.¬†

I think he’ll get some plays in here and there, but if they are relying on Vick to turn the tides on Dallas then they are in trouble.¬† One would have to think that this is exactly the kind of game where the Eagles thought he could be a difference maker when they signed him.¬† But, based on the way he’s been used this season and the overall impact he’s had, I just don’t see it happening.¬† If you need this dude to get you a key third-and-one late in a game at this point in the season, you aren’t going to the Super Bowl anyway.¬†

Quintin Demps still has a bum ankle and his status is in doubt for Saturday night.¬† I never thought I’d miss Quintin Demps this much.¬† The play of the safeties has been lacking to say the least and the kickoff returns have been even worse.¬† Jeremy Maclin is not a kick returner.¬†¬† Why don’t the Eagles get this?¬†¬† He runs wayyyy too upright, has no instincts and looks like he just can’t wait for the play to be over.¬† Macho Harris stinks on kickoffs as well.¬† The good news?¬† David Buehler has been bombing the bejesus out of kickoffs so no returns are necessary.¬†

Marion Barber showed up on Thursday’s injury report with a knee injury, but it’s not believed to be serious.¬† Then again, the way he runs, he can get hurt at any moment.¬†

Tashard Choice has been medically cleared to play after a concussion a few weeks ago.¬† He’s their third runner, but they like to use him in the Wildcat from time to time.¬†

DeMarcus Ware popped up on the injury report on Thursday with a sore back, but don’t get all excited, he should be fine.¬† They were probably just giving him extra rest.

Cowboys safety Pat Watkins will be a game-time decision Saturday night with a sprained PCL.¬† I’m not sure who it will benefit if he plays or doesn’t play.¬† He stinks.¬† Because I said that, he’ll play and get an interception.

Also of note, Marc Columbo is expected to start at right tackle, with Doug Free rotating in to ease the workload.¬† Free has actually done a pretty good job in Columbo’s absence.¬†
