Andy Reid and his staff must look at their offense’s play against the Cowboys, identfy the problem and make the necessary player or coach moves and adjustments.
They must first seriously examine themselves and be very critical of the game plan they put together which allowed the Cowboys to take DeSean Jackson completely out of action.
They have allowed the Cowboys to take Jackson out of the game, three games in a row. One game is understandable, two is not and three is what I call incompetence.
The offense performed poorly against Dallas three games in a row, yet the Eagles coaching staff was unable make any adjustments to help them.
Without being able to see the coach’s tape, I don’t know whether the Eagles receivers were able to get open or not, but I do know that Donovan McNabb was under constant pressure and held the ball too long on plays when he had the time to throw it.
Reid and his staff can see whether their game plan was the problem or McNabb was unable to do the job or his receivers were unable to get open.
Whatever the answer is to that question has to be dealt with and it shouldn’t be pushed to the side.
We know that Reid will be back next year, but that doesn’t mean anybody else has to return.
Whatever they’ve got to do must be done immediately to put together an offense that can function against the Cowboys because they’re going to be in the division for the forseeable future.
