if the Eagles want to get rid of Donovan McNabb, last night was a great scenario to give them reason for doing it. They had him running for his life as the Cowboys defensive line chased him all over the field.
I don’t know if McNabb is ever going to lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl championship, so if they want to move him, they can do it this off season.
I don’t know if he’s becoming a better quarterback each year, learning from his mistakes and improving on his shortcomings, so moving him should be a serious consideration.
Year after year his accuracy doesn’t improve. He hasn’t learned to put touch on his short passes and he takes sacks at times when he should get rid of the football.
Still, he throws an excellent deep ball, extends plays with athleticism, led the team to the playoffs again, helped the team breaking the team scoring record again this year and I don’t know whether Kevin Kolb is the answer.
McNabb is one of the top ten quarterbacks in the league, so they shouldn’t move him unless they’re confident that Kolb will be better.
When and if they make the move, they should make sure they get a lot of injury insurance on Kolb because he’s not going to get out of the Cowboys’ games in one piece.
If you haven’t noticed the Cowboys have put together quite a defense in the last few years. These guys know something about rushing the passer.
It doesn’t matter whether McNabb remains with this football team or not, they’re not going to beat this current Dallas football team with the football team they have now.
McNabb could have and should have played better, but the first problems started with the pathetic game plan and with the meager efforts of the guys upfront.
What kind of game plan did Andy Reid and his staff come out with? How do you have a weapon like DeSean Jackson but can’t find a way to get him the football?
I give credit to rookie Jeremy Maclin for his record-breaking day, but a good team doesn’t let the other team completely take away their most dangerous weapon.
I don’t care who the Eagles would have put in there at quarterback last night, they would have had problems. This Eagles offensive line can’t block the Cowboys front seven.
Last night was when they needed a healthy and eager Shawn Andrews to open some lanes for their running game. They needed center Jamaal Jackson to decipher when Cowboys linebacker Anthony Spencer was going to be looping in from the outside.
It’s rather ironic that the Eagles gave the Cowboys the first round pick to get pass rushing Spencer, who has developed into the player who can match the pressure that DeMarcus Ware brings from the other side.
Dallas can now put consistent pressure on the quarterback without having to rely on the blitz. They can get to you with only four men rushing the passer.
I think you must have a dominant pass rusher from each side if you’re going to have a true Super Bowl caliber defense.
The Cowboys have a Super Bowl caliber defense.
