In the last two weeks the Cowboys showed the entire country that they have a better roster than the Eagles, but the architects of the Birds roster Andy Reid and Tom Heckert were rewarded with a contract extension and new job.
Wouldn’t it make sense that the guys who built the Cowboys would be in more demand than than the guys who built the Eagles?
It doesn’t make any sense to me.
Joe Banner said the Eagles had the best roster in the NFL, that can’t be true because the Cowboys have a much better roster than the Birds.
First of all the Cowboys are better upfront on both their offensive line and on their defensive line.
Dallas showed that they can block our front seven on running plays and pass plays while we can’t block their front seven in run or pass situations.
All you have to do is take a close look at the matchups at the left offensive tackle versus the right defensive end positions.
Cowboys left tackle Flozell Adams treated the Eagles best pass rusher Trent Cole like he was a little boy who was being dominated by his big brother. Cole did nothing in all three games they played this year.
The Cowboys ran for 198 yards against the Eagles, but the Birds could run for only 56 yards against Dallas. It’s clear that the Cowboys are bigger and more physical upfront.
What makes anybody think that it’s going to be different next year?
The battle between Eagles left tackle Jason Peters and Cowboys right outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware favored Peters in the first game, but in the last two games Ware abused Peters.
Don’t mention that the Cowboys also have matchup advantages with Pro Bowl nose tackle Jay Ratliff and young speedy pass rushing linebacker Anthony Spencer.
Reid has always rightfully said that games are won and lost upfront. How are they going to beat the Cowboys any time soon?
I just wrote an article laying out the fact that the Cowboys are better than the Eagles in the wide receiver and cornerback matchups.
Dallas wide receivers Miles Austin 6’3″ 215 pounds and Roy Williams is also about 6’3″ 215 pounds. Our recevers DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin are very fast but they’re also not very big.
On top of all of this, Tony Romo has gotten better as a quarterback, but I couldn’t say the same about Donovan McNabb.
Romo did a tremendous job of operating the Cowboys on third down, but McNabb struggled on third down.
The Cowboys have a much better roster and it’s not even close.
