Kolb Could Inherit Better Weapons Than McNabb Ever Had

McNabb makes a throwIf Donovan McNabb is traded this off season, he’s going to leave looking back and thinking what could have been. There’s no doubt that if Kevin Kolb takes over this offense, he’ll be taking over a more talented group than McNabb ever had.

Kolb will have a young, taltented and maturing group of weapons that has the talent to the be the very best the NFL has to offer.

Pro Bowler DeSean Jackson will closing in on his prime and he’ll be smarter next season.  He’s without a doubt, one of the most explosive receivers in the league and he proved it by catching 63 passes for 1167 yards and touches in 15 games.

He will have tight end Brent Celek who had a breakout season with Pro Bowl level stats. He caught 76 passes for 971 yards and 8 touchdowns.

With Celek will have a dependable short to intermediate weapon.  Kolb and Celek will be able to establish the same type of rapport that Tony Romo and Jason Witten have.

Kolb rolls out of the pocket Jeremy Maclin who showed so much talent and promise last year will be in his second year and he’s shown that he too has Pro Bowl talent.  He was getting better and better as his rookie year progressed.

Due to his size, I believe Maclin has a better upside than Jackson.  He’ll be a year smarter, more mature and closer to his prime.  Maclin caught 55 passes for 762 yards along with 4 touchdowns.

Jason Avant will be working out of the slot and he has proven that he has some of the league’s most dependable hands.

Running back LeSean McCoy will be a year older and a year smarter.  He’s already shown the ability to be a good screen receiver, now with a year under his belt he should be even better.

Pro Bowl fullback Leonard Weaver will be another dependable ball carrier and additional receiver for Kolb.  Like Celek he will be a safety valve, who has good speed and a great pair of hands.

Talented rookie tight end, Cornelius Ingram, who showed a tremendous amount of ability in the training camp, will be available and has the potential to be a great red zone weapon.

I could see the Birds using him the way the Packers use Jermichael Finley by spreading him out allowing him to create mismatches with two tight end formations.

Kolb has to be salivating to get the chance to start his career with such an explosive array of weapons to go to battle with each week.

McNabb on the other hands has to be wondering what he could have done if he had these types of weapons to play with for a decade.

Remember I said earlier this year that McNabb would be a sure Hall of Famer is gets a new contract with the Birds because the talent he will be playing with allow him to put up some big numbers e

I think something will leak in the next few weeks regarding what the Eagles are going to do at the quarterback position.
