I did the NBC-10 Sunday night show and I was on with Howard Eskin of 610-WIP and he reported that Brian Westbrook has a knee injury that could mean the end of his career.
According to Eskin, Westbrook has been getting second opinions from doctors about whether it is feasible for him to continue to his career.
Howard said Westbrook’s career as an Eagles running back is over because of his injury and the salary he would command if they brought him back next year.
Eskin went on to say that Westbrook’s leg had been bothering him before the last Cowboys game and that’s why Andy Reid didn’t use him very much in that game.
He also said that Westbrook’s knee injury would make it impossible for him to pass a physical.
It just goes to show that running back’s have very short careers in the NFL.
