Brad Lidge Comes Clean And Says He Was Hurt Last Year

Phillies closer Brad Lidge was on 610-WIP this morning with Anthony Gargano and Glen Macnow.  During the interview, he admitted that he was injured last year but hid it from the team.

Lidge said he had bone chips floating around in his elbow and the injury made it very difficult for him to do his job.

The injury developed near mid-season.  He decided to tough it out and keep pitching without telling Charlie Manuel and the ballclub that he was injured.

He didn’t come clean with the team until the season ended.

The sinker-baller said that now he’s feeling good after off season surgery but, he doesn’t think he’s going to be ready to go right away during spring training, but he will but it won’t be long before he will be.

Lidge thinks he will be healthier and much more effective this year as compared to last.
