Donovan McNabb Trade Countdown Day #42

Kolb Comcast Sportsnet has reported that the Seattle Seahawks have called the Eagles about Kevin Kolb but have no interest in Donovan McNabb.

Early this week ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio told Mike Missanelli of 97.5 ESPN radio that the Seahawks have been calling the Eagles on a non-stop basis and inquiring about McNabb and Kolb.  Now Comcast comes back and refutes that report to say their interest was only in Kolb.

I think it makes sense that the Seahawks would call about Kolb but why would a team that is not in a position to win right now, want a 34-year old veteran quarterback like McNabb.

This is McNabb Trade Day #42 because the Eagles now have 42 days to workout a trade or bring McNabb back as their starting quarterback.

Right now it doesn’t look like the Arizona Cardinals will be one of those teams because they’re in pursuit of both San Diego Chargers third-stringer Charlie Whitehead and Cleveland Browns’ castoff Derek Anderson.

McNabb They both could wind up battling former first round pick Matt Leinart for the starting job.  It doesn’t sound like they’re thinking about McNabb in Arizona.

You know about Minnesota head coach Brad Childress and his trip to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to talk to Brett Favre.  I don’t think we will know whether Favre will be back or not until July.  This could happen after the draft because McNabb knows their system and he has a great relationship with Childress.

Mike Singletary of the San Francisco 49ers said they’re not interested in McNabb, so that doesn’t look like a landing spot for McNabb either.

Right now with 42 days to go, it looks like McNabb will be back.  Stay tuned.
