According to Adam Caplan of Scout.com, the Philadelphia Eagles will be visited by veteran running back Mike Bell tomorrow.  Bell was a backup ball carrier for the Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints last season.
There had been talk earlier in the off season about the Eagles having some interest in Bell but nothing materialized.  Tomorrow they will sit down face to face.
Bell has to be attractive to the Eagles because they wouldn’t have to compensate the Saints any draft picks if they were to sign him since New Orleans tendered him at the lowest level.
He’s a solid veteran running back, who runs hard, catches the ball out of the backfield decently and does a good job picking up blitzing linebackers.¬† He plays special teams and doesn’t make many mistakes.
I could see the Eagles signing him to backup LeSean McCoy because they wouldn’t have to break the bank to sign him.
Bell doesn’t have any leverage since there aren’t any other teams beating down the door for his services.
I could see them getting something done tomorrow because Bell won’t come in with any pie in the sky thinking.¬† His agent won’t be able to lie to him like so many of them do.
He’s knows there’s not much of a market for his services to he’ll settle for what he can get.
The Saints will be given seven days to match any offer the Birds were to make.
