Eagles Release Former All-Pro Shawn Andrews

It has finally happened.  The Eagles have released former first round draft pick Shawn Andrews, who is currently in California recovering from a recent surgery.

“We appreciate the efforts and contributions of Shawn while he was here,” coach Andy Reid said in a statement. “We have, however, decided to move in another direction.”

According to Philly.com, Andrews texted, “Bye, Bye Birds” in reaction to the news.

Who knows what will happen now to Andrews?  Will he recover fully and get back on the football field?

Who knows, but Andrews does say he wants to play again and is willing to do whatever is necessary to get back out there.
