According to Darren Urban from the Arizona Cardinals team website, Rod Graves told him via email that the Cardinals have “no interest” in Donovan McNabb. Apparently, they like the skill set that Matt Leinart and Derek Anderson bring to the table.
There have been a lot of teams linked to McNabb and I’ve thought all along that the Cardinals interest in him was created by the media and not based in fact (just a hunch). Does Graves‚Äô denial mean that they really aren‚Äôt interested? Of course not. Teams say all sorts of things; it‚Äôs a huge game.
So, why does on one seem to want Donovan?¬† My guess is that the Eagles want too much for him and some teams may be worried that they can‚Äôt sign him to an extension.¬† But the Eagles need to be careful here.¬† Like G. said earlier, the cat is out of the bag now, everyone knows they want to move Donovan.¬† So what if there are no takers?¬†¬† Well, now you are keeping a player you may not have wanted to keep and he knows you don’t want him.¬† Awesome.
Have fun with that.  Luckily for the Eagles, Donovan is good at taking the high road with this kind of stuff.
