The Donovan McNabb trade talks have been burning non-stop for a over a week now, but we may find out when it’s all over that it was all nothing but nonsense and made-up stories.
It’s not out of the question for McNabb to be the starting quarterback for the Eagles in 2010.
For the past couple of days ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that the Oakland Raiders are most likely the landing spot for McNabb. According to Schefter the Raiders aren’t bothered by the fact that McNabb has only one year left on his contract and reportedly doesn’t want to play for them.
Yet, there’s a report in the Oakland Tribune or InsideBayarea.com with two Raiders employees totally denying they have even talked to the Eagles about McNabb.
Philly.com made a report last Friday about McNabb selecting the Minnesota Vikings as the team he would most like to be traded to.
A day before that ESPN’s Schefter also reported that McNabb had told Andy Reid, he would like to stay with the Eagles rather than play with the Raiders or the Bills.
Yet later in the day on Friday, Philly.com had quotes from McNabb’s agent, Fletcher Smith totally denying that McNabb has talked to the Eagles or anybody else about being traded and where he would like to go to. Smith said he and McNabb have no reason to believe he will be traded.
Last week during the league meetings there was a report by Philly.com that a trade between the Rams and the Eagles was imminent.  St. Louis general manager Bill Devaney totally denied the report.
A day or two later somebody got ahold of Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo and he said the same thing his GM said.  Nothing further has happened with regard to that supposed trade.
There have been a lot of reports about the supposed McNabb trade, don’t get all worked up about it until it happens because there’s no way of knowing what is true.
