Brown and Gocong Headed To Cleveland

It’s a done deal.¬† The Eagles agree to send Sheldon Brown and Chris Gocong to the Browns for LB Alex Hall and 4th round draft pick and 5th round pick in 2010.

Brown gets his new contract and guaranteed money.¬† Gocong gets the chance to do what he does best and that’s rush the passer.

It’s also going to mean that Ellis Hobbs and Joselio Hanson will get the chance to start at the right corner.

Moises Fokou will probably be the starting strongside linebacker when the season starts.¬† We’ll have to wait and see if he can do the job.

I have no idea whether this linebacker Alex Hall can play or not but we’ll find out soon.¬† Obviously the Browns don’t think he can play.

Hopefully, the Eagles will do a good job of selecting the right players to pick in the fourth and fifth round spots.

nice new site, hope this trade means big red is wheeling and dealing draft day. the team right now is no worse off then last season provided donovan is back. need to get a couple good young assets in the draft and hope some team has a qb injury before the season starts or a qb goes to jail

Ok ,they got rid of Brown , when do they get rid of the overpaid ,can’t tackle worth a lick, other cornerback Samuel . To tell you the truth ,I wished they get Brown and got rid of Samuel .

Hopefully they can get a higher #1 out of all these picks. You know they want Eric Berry. The Birds just might be delusional enough to think #24 plus a 3rd and a 4th will nab the Tennessee Safety. Let’s see what Roseman is made of.

and wow, BigE won’t have his smiley faces anymore with this new comment board! He’ll have to keep it to letters and punctuation like the big boys! Uh oh. And I just tested the editing! You can actually go back to a previous line. Good stuff. Though I would like the ‘reply’ function back.

i think fattso is trying to lose games than he wins this year.
1. he is going to rely on a QB who hasnt shown anything and a rb that is way to small to last the whole year. yea he threw for 300 yards in his 3 games but it was against 3 of the worst pass defenses in the leauge.
2. he trades away the only guy that has started more than 5 seasons for our defense who played with a torn hamstring and was still the best tackler on the field.
3. he tries to use a cover 2 corner to play free saftey for him whos kness are blown out.
4. (my personal fav) our starting c and rg both have their acl in pieces and he thinks they will be ready for the season.
5. we have a lb corps that cant tackle worth a damn and no lde..oh wait didnt we have a chance to solve this problem in FA with peppers, and keeping witherspoon another year or two.

dzim – every one of those points relies on assumptions. There’s nothing but media speculation right now to suggest that McNabb won’t start and play QB for the Eagles for all of 2010. There’s nothing to suggest that McCoy’s carries won’t be shared with Weaver and Bell. We don’t know where Marlin Jackson will play – assuming he stays healthy, what if we draft a saftey #1, or #2 and start him. What if Marlin Jackson plays corner? What if we draft (high) or trade for a guard or center? They could start over Jackson/Cole/Andrews. We don’t know that they won’t draft high or trade for an LB or LDE either. Slow your role

we all know a saftey will not be taken in round 1 or 2. and if jackson plays corner get ready to watch recievers blow past him all day. he is a cover 2 corner. he isnt fast enough to play man coverage and as much as we blitz our corners need to be able to lock down on recievers. they also dont value LBers eventhough we all know you need good linebackers to stop the run. and they wont admit abrimi is a bust until after this year or next. look how long they held on mcdougle and he couldnt even got on the field as a back up
