Sheldon Brown Says Team Chemistry Was Bad

Sheldon Brown was just on 610-WIP and he said locker room chemistry was a problem and one of the reasons he was ready to leave Philadelphia and play elsewhere.

Brown didn’t mention Asante Samuel’s name and wouldn’t get into the detail about the lack of team chemistry, but he said that players didn’t like the fact a player from another team came in and changed the chemistry.

Sheldon had made it public that he didn’t like the fact that they gave Samuel a bucket load of money while refusing to pay the guys who had been here for years making plays for the team.

Brown also disagreed with Brian Baldinger and said it was ridiculous to say that Donovan McNabb was oveerrated.  He said McNabb was a winner did great things here as an Eagle.

The former Eagles corner wasn’t surprised that McNabb was traded.

He thinks Kevin Kolb can have success here but he believes it will depend on how much help he gets from the rest of the football team, especially the defense.

Brown thinks the Birds did miss Brian Dawkins in the locker room.¬† He reitterated something that McNabb had say, which was if they would let Dawkins go, they’ll let anybody go.

Brown gave former Birds GM and current GM for the Browns, Tom Heckert credit for working out the trade which got him out of Philly.

He said he liked Philly fans but said the media focuses on too many negative things.¬† Brown said that he regrets they didn’t win a championship, but feels the team enjoyed a lot of success while they were here in Philadelphia.

All of Brown’s remarks make a great deal of sense.

Sheldon Brown, another top caliber player left to the wayside for no great reason. This year will prove that you will be missed. Spot on about the media too.

Come on man … Brown is just bitter that they paid Samuel and not him. Right, wrong, or indifferent, the only bad chemistry in the locker room was coming from him.

@Ian-I too believe if Brown’s contract would’ve been re-worked to compensate him appropriatly (sic) he would be singing a different tune. And with all the salary shedding we’ve been doing I don’t know why we didn’t try and do something for him. Opportunity coupled with no action on the part of the Eagles FO would equal Bitter Brown.

Sheldon is right. And the one thing I can’t stand about the media in this town is the fact they’re all in denial. No matter who says and how many people say people in Philly are too negative, they deny it and act like people are too overly critical of Philly. The Philly media is too negative. No matter what time of the day you listen to the radio who ever is on their always have crap to say to support their cynical mind. Philly media sucks. No one pays for the papers anymore because people don’t want to read that crap.
