The Commissioner Can’t Give Big Ben A Free Pass

It seems that Ben Roethlisberger has some things in common with former President Bill Clinton.¬†¬† He likes taking advantage of impressionable 20-year olds. Ocmulgee (Ga.) Judicial Circuit District Attorney Fred Bright spilled the beans on Ben when he let everybody know that they wouldn’t be prosecuting the Steelers quarterback yesterday.

He’s not going to prosecute him, but he made sure he let everybody know what a slime ball Roethlisberger was on the night in question.

The Pittsburg signal caller had one of his bouncers take the intoxicated young lady into a small bathroom, then Roethlisberger went in there with her.

What happened after that we don’t know exactly,¬† but we do know that according to Big Ben they had some type of sexual contact.

Here you have a Super Bowl and superstar quarterback who could have just about whatever woman he would want, but he decides to take advantage of a drunken 20-year old coed.  Come on dude.

I find it suspicious that this young lady who a month or so ago, accused him of sexually assaulting her, now all of sudden she doesn’t want him prosecuted.

Yes, it smells like Big Ben became Big Benjamin as he and his handlers put some “Benjamins” in the young lady’s pockets and told her to go away.

Today, Roethlisberger is heading to New York to meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. I don’t see any way that Ben can avoid being suspended, since this is second time he has been accused of sexual assault in less than a year.

A woman filed a lawsuit in July and accused Roethlisberger of raping her in 2008 in a Lake Tahoe hotel room.

This morning in Boston, a lawyer, Harry Manion, went on the radio and said he was recently involved in an investigation involving Roethlisberger, which resembled the same situation that happened in Georgia. I find this very alarming.

Goodell said he was going to punish any players who damaged the shield, which meant the image of the NFL.  I think this is an obvious case of such behavior.  Despite avoiding prosecution, I believe that being accused of sexual assault two times in less than a year is seriously damaging the image of the league.

“We are not condoning Mr. Roethlisberger’s actions that night,” Bright the D.A. said. “But we do not prosecute morals. We prosecute crimes.”

The D.A. doesn’t prosecute immoral behavior but Goodell said he does, when it damages the image of the league.

If Ben gets a free pass, you’re going to hear something from other players in the league who have been punished.

He should be suspended for 4 games and placed into the leagues substance abuse program as this incident included obvious alcohol abuse. Hopefully Ben will realize that he can not act like the big man on campus when he is not on campus any more.

A guy with no money is probably in jail for this. Of course this girl being in a bar underage certainly would have made her a big target for the defense. She may have withdrawn just so she did not get dragged through the mud of discredit.

I think Ben is a dumb drunk not a serial rapist. Of course I was not there when these things happend.

It just seems like he gets wasted and sticks his hands in the ladies’ pants and then they stick their hands in his pockets.

This is stupidity on his part. Grow up you dope!!!

Paulmans following punishment for Big Ben
#1) Enter a Alcohol rehab facility for 30 days
#2) Attend a Womens Abuse Counseling Center for 15 days
#3) 2 games Suspension to start the Season

If this sounds harsh, well maybe it is, but a message has got to be sent out to these fellas who continue to abuse Alcohol and Women… (Also I believe the Big Ben has serious issues with
Alcohol.)

A 2 to 4 game suspension sounds like a good enough message to the rest of the league.

I heard Pacman is hosting a party with the Laker Girls and invited Big Ben, Michael Irving, Tiger Woods and Warren Sapp.

I think we’re going to see that Head coaches…and now franchise starting qb’s are exempt from this rule…or given a strong talking to, before taking action.

This dudes reputation aint coming back. He’s a scumbag and everybody knows it. But my question is, Since when is banging hot, young girls in bars a bad thing? I’ve done it and now that im married with kids and pretty much dull, I think of those days and smile. Maybe girls should stop being stupid sluts and getting hammered publically where men are trying to bang them. Then again perhaps this post is to honest. But women are to blame as well.

Im not sure how he isnt in jail. They said on the one of those news channels that they didnt have enough DNA evidence to prosecute him. How is that I thought all they need is the smallest amount of any type of DNA to prosecute.

How do these high profile athletes get away with this shit?????? This is some BULL

Also, 70% of NFL players are black. Ben is white. If he doesn’t get suspended, heads will roll. And rightfully so. This whole situation is total bullshit. I hate Ben Roethlisberger. I mean, he just looks gross. Like he should be changing your oil, not being a superstar QB in the NFL.

jimmy mac, you are bringing in race, as many people have tried to do. I don’t get that. I also don’t understand how he can be a “scumbag” for doing things you look back upon fondly. It does seem to me he’s a totally classless jackal, but if he raped these girls, he’d be in jail.

It does sound hypocritical. But Im just an average joe..this guy is A SB Champion who doesnt need to be stealing regular caliber skanks from the real world. Dude should be getting high end tail..then staying in his mansion to do his business..Not in dive bar bathrooms.

First, I think Big Ben is a moron and i think the steelers should seriously think of trading him….. to the raiders. What could be a worse punishment than that. McNabb said he would retire before going there. This is not the first time big ben did something stupid. also i am a believer that sometimes people are looking for a handout and who says this girl wasn’t doing that. The last one was pretty proven to have been doing that. Big Ben should consult Tiger. Tiger got ho’s , yeah he got caught but he wasn’t going to court over it.

rothlessberger is a tool. But if he wasn’t even charged with a crime, how can the league suspend him? That’s a slippery slope. If the league suspends every ‘dope’, ‘jerk’, or ‘player behaving inappropriately or stupidly’, then we’re talking about ‘the replacements’. Forget being convicted of a crime – HE WASN’T EVEN CHARGED!

The big guy said he would take issue with any who “tarnish the shield” under his watch. He has no choice but to give Ben some sort of suspension for being in these situations.

To address the DNA issue – It was a non issue as soon as Ben stated that they had sexual contact.

All they would have needed to prosecute for rape was for this woman to stand by her claims. For what ever reason(s) she decided not to continue and that is the legal end to this. Ben still needs to change his ways as famous dudes can not play in the small pond without getting stuck in the muck.

Yeah but see, thats just it. Famous dudes can get away with it. Its happening everyday. Our society is over-sexed and saturated with lust. I for one am feeling left out in the cold while all these famous guys bang girls one after the other and when the shit hits the fan just bust out some Benjamins and BANG!! it’s game back on. Meanwhile, in Loserville, population us, we get caught even looking at a girl too long were slammed in court..end of story..game over..Fuck man, I’m way better looking than Tiger or that Frankenstein monster Roethlisberger and their running circles around me with the women. What gives G?

Haha. Jealousy! Money talks, bs walks. I don’t hate Ben; he appears to classless like so many of his other professional brethren and acts like he is still in college, drinking to excess and receiving immediate sexual gratification in the privacy of a stink-filled bar room bathroom. And yes, he should be dating models. But like Schiller says, he was not guilty of any crime, just bad taste. Wasn’t cited by police for his behavior, why punish him. We make excuses for just about every other slimeball in this society, if he did not rape or assault the girl, what was so heinous? In some ways, he’s “living the dream,” just not what we expect of a NFL quarterback. Me, I’d rather take the Tony Romo approach.
