The idiot Phillies fan, Matthew Clemens, who threw up on the young lady is merely exposing what has been an ongoing problem that there’s too much drinking at Eagles and Phillies games and far too many young fans go to games here in Philadelphia just for the purpose of getting drunk.
First of all, there can’t be many people in the Delaware Valley who are dumber than this dope, Clemens.¬† They need send him to jail and put him in the cell with “Bubba”.
After a few years in there Clemens will never be tempted to do something so stupid ever again, but there’s a bigger problem which he has caused us to focus on.
There’s a mindset amongst some of Philadelphia sports fans, who think intimidating and physically attacking fans of other teams is something to be proud of, but it’s really nothing but the activities of cowards.
Anybody can be a tough guy, when standing with five guys against one person.  Last year two guys beat a guy to death at a Phillies game.
As for the forementioned bonehead who threw up on the teenager, I don’t know if he was drunk or not, but drunkeness in the parking lot of Eagles games and Phillies games is a constant.
I’ve seen some of these youngsters when I’m walking from my car into the stadium and can’t help but believe that some of them are underage.
That’s a serious issue that must be dealt with.¬† The city of Philadelphia and the teams must do something to stop the underage and out of control drinking with occurs on a regular basis.
There also going to be forced to cut off some of the drinking if people continue to drink until they are plastered.
I hear all of the crying that goes on when criticism is leveled at Philadelphia sports fans, but sometimes is legitimate.
A negative reputation has been developed and it’s going to take years of good behavior to change it.
I love the fact that someone beat the sh#t out of him as is evidenced in the photo. That cop should be allowed to have a “private” interagation session with this fat slob.
Between this and the flash mobs, philly is really maintaining our already stellar reputation!
This attitude goes a lot deeper than stupidity. It is an example of what a segment of society has become.
Entitlement, immaturity, ignorance when it comes to respecting the rights of others, should be learned in the home and school, but today security has become the focus. Kids are bringing guns and drugs to school.
Anyway, thanks for a forum to vent.
LOL. Finally!! A name to the face..Its exactly what i always imagined you looked liked Paulman.
Also G, its easy to be a tough guy when you have bodyguards ans state troopers blocking the door so you can rape little girls in bathrooms. How is Ben Roethlisberger still breathing?
Only in our trash first society..so proud of America. Truly the gold standard of the world. Got money? Rape girls. Thats awesome. Im gonna get a second job!
‘LOL Jmac’ – that’s what I wanted to post but this new forum format told me my comment was too short to post so I wrote this.
You cannot stop idiots from being idiots. It is just who they are. However, I see not reason not to throw them out of games and arrest them. Spending some time locked up, and having the story get around that you will get collared for being out of control will influence how people act. My father and I never, ever sell out Eagles tickets, we go to every game. To be honest, we afraid that if we sold them and the person who used them got tossed out, we could lose our SBL and our tickets for keeps. Just not worth the risk.
Its rediculas how the national media picks this story up and runs with it. The whole sports world has this stupid idea about us fans and its bullshit. Every city has things like this happen all year every year. And you dont year about it.
How come when the Browns fans threw beer bottles at players a few years back you didnt hear how bad fans they are.
Last year when the Cubs fan threw the beer on Victorino nothing.
Pistons fans fighting players nothing.
I know theres alot more then that. That has happen outside of the City of Philadelphia. I just cant think about them off the top of my head. Its just so F’ed up that we get such a bad wrap when the same stuff happens all over the country.
Oh and G when the guy got beat to death it was at the Stadium but it happen well after the game was over and they were in Mcfaddens for a Bachelor party.
you cannot help stupidity. Is this kid even 21 he looks 16. On a side note maybe the problem isn’t the fans, maybe it is that the Leagues promote alcohol. They have no problems taking a check to place a billboard or a commercial. Hey i am of the mindset that people should be responsible for their actions but parents should also know that when you take kids to a game, you are essentially taking them to a frat party. By the way, right or wrong, this stuff happens at every stadium but since its philly its gets all the attention.
The league’s shouldn’t promote drinking as much but every individual has to accept responsibility for how much they drink.Everybody should be held accountable for their actions and that includes the leagues, the establish that is serving the alcohol and the individual, who is drinking it.
While I agree with Gary in the sense that their are too many drunks allowed to remain at games (meaning once its to the point of screaming and or being aggressive or ruining any other fans right to enjoy the game) I do not agree with the fact that all fans should be “punished” or held to say any kind of alcohol limit just because of the same people who make THEIR game less enjoyable bc they cannot handle alcohol. It should be on a case by case basis, and once people are obviously out of control or being a complete annoyance to other fans around them they should be thrown out just like it is at any bar. This is EVERY stadium Gary. The fight where the man was beaten to death did not happen during any game but at a bar, I believe Mcfaddens. There are HUGE fights at EVERY stadium at least once a game, its rare you dont see them in fact. While I HATE this label that we Philly fans get, its DEF not deserved. I could honestly care less about what other fans “think of us” lol, so I don’t lose sleep over it. Just very annoyed. Yea my grandpa threw snowballs at santa, WHO CARES I dont think they even wore helmets back then….
G COBB i worked with this kid for last 2 years this is no surprise ,this kid has a throw up fetish and is well known for doing this dumb stuff ,was tossed out phillies game last year for tossing hot dogs and cursing .he has other fetishes he does which are very gross this kid needs serious help but its ashamed that his parents are just as bad .G if that was at eagles game kid would never have made it out alive lol .keep up good work g
Idiots have been violent way back to the Franklin Field days for Eagles games and age was not a factor
but drinking was. At the vet there were always ass_oles throwing full cans down on the crowd, harrashing guys with their ladies and punching each other sensless.Trash will always find their way into events to spoil it for a majority of the decent individuals who act like human beings. They should capture these jerks on camera and ban them from the events for at least a whole season if not forever.
People are always accusing the Eagles of crass pursuit of the dollar at the expense of the team and “fandom.” The one place I think it is actually true is the encouragement of alcohol consumption at these games. I’ve been going to games since the sixties, and the drinking has gotten worse and worse. People’s behavior has gotten more and more barbaric. There is always the smell and tension of near-violence at Eagles games. Drunk imbeciles knowlingly, uncaringly yelling obscenities into my then 9 year old daughters ears. I love drinking, and I love gettin loud, and love the comraderie of Eagles fans, but their bad behavior goes uncontrolled and tolerated because of the incredible profits to be made from alcohol sales. Why the new stadiums are built to encourage alcohol sales! But basically, it is the decline of behavior in American society. Being a drunk asshole is now commonly accepted behavior.
I never got the whole allure of the “800 level,” and the pride that went with being a barbarian. Oh, and yeah, the Phillies ballbark was built around alcohol sales as well.
you mean 700 level 1960. i know this sounds stupid but this idiot makes the rest of us drunks look bad. honestly, i’m not usually that tuned in at the eagles game. i usually get a solid buzz going before the game and sober up during the game because i always have to drive home. i will admit though that there have been times where i’ve gotten pretty banged up before/during a game. i’ve never got in a fight or insulted anyone in any of those times. i did pass out once but that was new years day and mike mcmahon was starting so i think i get a pass. anyway, in defense of us drunks, don’t knock all of us because of a few morons
I couldn’t agree more G. I am a diehard Philly sports fan and I am always quick to defend my fellow Philly fans to non-Philly fans. But after I went to the Phillies championship parade it hit me, there are way to many idiot fans here in Philly. I saw teenagers getting drunk and fighting people when everyone was supposed to be celebrating a teams championship. I just looked at the sea of people and thought to myself that I really don’t like some of these fans.
Now this idiot does something this vile it just repulses me. I hope he goes away for a very long time.
@ tjp2033
I agree with you and the idiots at the Phillies Parade. I too was at the Phillies parade and it was just an excuse for people to get drunk, after they won there were so many “Phillies Fans”. At one point people starting throwing beer bottles into the crowd of people. That makes sense lets hurt other fans in celebration. Pure idiots.
