Roethlisberger Will Be Suspended 4-6 Games This Year

ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Chris Mortenson have reported that the NFL will suspend Ben Roethlisberger any where from 4 to 6 games.

It’s suspected that the number can be reduced to as few as 2 games, if Roethlisberger avoids any further run-ins with the league personal conduct policy.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the Steelers are slated to play five national television games this season, but none of them are among their first six games of the season.

Expect an announcement some time today.

On another aspect of the case, it has been reported that the Steelers have Roethlisberger on the trading block.   They are not only listening to offers and waiting for a team to bowl them over with a tremendous opportunity.

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Steelers are calling teams with picks amongst the top ten.

There’s also a report that Byron Leftwich, whom they traded for yesteday will have the chance to start.

I can see the Oakland Raiders,Arizona Cardinals going after him and maybe the 49ers but that’s about it.. He’s not a fit in Cleveland’s under Holmgrem’s eventual WCO system. Buffalo,Carolina & Jacksonville all have very conservative owers who are not going to want to being in a player with the type Character/Moral issues that he has.
Either way, he deserves at least a 4 game suspension which Is what I think will occur
(Steelers play 4 games, then have a bye week in Week #5 and then play their 5th game in Week #6 which is when he will return in most likliehood)

He is stupid but 4-6 games seem harsh for allegations. Yes, everyone knows he’s a clown and shouldn’t be in the wrong places but still it’s only allegations. 2 games seems more fair.

It’ll be four games and with the Steelers schedule they’ll be 3-1 upon his return.
