Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Patrick Crayton wants to be traded and he wants to be traded now.  Crayton and fellow Cowboys wide receiver Sam Hurd want out of Dallas since Jerry Jones and company used their first round pick to draft Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant.
The Cowboys are making backup linebacker Bobby Carpenter available to the highest bidder.¬† ESPN has reported that they’re trying to trade him to St. Louis in a deal which would bring offensive tackle Alex Barron to Texas.
Carpenter is expendable because the Cowboys drafted Penn State linebacker Sean Lee to take over the nickel and dime plays.¬† The former Ohio State backer has never lived up to his promise in Dallas.¬† You never see him turn it loose and nail somebody.¬† He just doesn’t make enough plays.
These guys know that the drafting of Bryant means they’re going to be stuck on the bench and they believe it would better to go elsewhere.
I think Crayton is good enough as a receiver and punt returner that there are teams in the league who should be interested in his services.
Last year the Cowboys third receiver caught 37 passes for 622 yards.
Hurd isn’t as good but he’s got deep speed and could also help a team spread the field with his speed.
Barron, who is a former number one draft pick for the Rams, would provide depth for the Cowboys behind new starting tackle Doug Free.  Veteran Flozell Adams was released earlier this off season, so Dallas needs depth at OT.
