Yesterday on NFL LIve DeSean Jackson went out of his way to make sure everybody knew he was not criticizing Donovan McNabb when he did his interview with The Sporting News.
I don’t think what he said about offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg will be as easy to explain, but he’s cleaned the slate with regard to his comments about McNabb and their current quarterbacks, Kevin Kolb and Michael Vick.
“I never had no problem with McNabb,” Jackson said Tuesday.
“The interview (with the Sporting News) was basically to give support to the quarterbacks in the locker room with me now.”
“I wish him(McNabb) all the best in his career,” Jackson said.
“I just have to focus on what I have to do here and not get caught up in anything else.”
I know many of you will say that the media helps to create this nonsense and I agree that we do, but this is what being a superstar athlete in Philadelphia is all about.
Attaboy! When it comes to the game, don’t talk about it! Be about it!
See this is why he has to keep his mouth shut. He’ll find himself having to cleanup what he said. It’s unfortunate but the media can be very cynical. And I just want him to be quiet for the good of the team and himself.
I am not buying it for one minute..
What does someone really mean when they say “I wish him the best”….
The best of what… the best of a bad sitation.. The best that I am glad I don’t have to play with you anymore… The best that I am the superstar on the Eagles now…
I think I will write an article on the Psychological causes and effects of stating “I wish you the best”…
Bottom line: Desean is an Eagle. McNabb is a Redskin.
Stop talking about the Redskin and none of this “controversy” takes place.
paulman it could mean “I wish him the best injury he’s ever had”
EB maybe you tell the media to stop asking Eagle’s players about a particular Redskin player. If they stop asking then the players won’t have anything to say. So it’s up to the player to respond. The media will ride this thing forever. They can’t help themselves. I bet we can’t all wait for Farve watch 2010 that should be starting up pretty soon.
Desean did respond. But his response was taken out of context. What is wrong with the whole response? If you don’t just use the first line…again the public believes what the media says instead of reading the article themselves.
“I don’t think we lost anything, even with McNabb being gone. I am very happy with the decision. Playing with Kevin Kolb last year, I know what he’s capable of doing. I see his playmaking ability and his leadership.”
That’s what I’m saying. He words will be taken out of context. Personally, I don’t have a problem with what he said. If you don’t want your words to be taken out of context, then give them no words. If you don’t want them to twist your words and put you in a position where you have to back track and “clean up” what you said then stopping being so available and open with your thoughts. Unfortunately, athletes can’t be 100% honest all the time because of the power of the media and you get different writers trying to analyze it and stuff. Just be quiet and keep it to yourself and teammates. That’s all.
Once again he shuts the people up…in the media and he shuts people up on the field…he’s not the second coming of TO. Hes already proven he’s a better professional. DJ..is the man a.k.a. The Silencer..I love that guy..lol
All u b*tches on here including the jouralists who talk sh!t on DeSean about him needing to shut up n all that mess…now u guys look like complete jackasses. And its funny u know who u are.
