Eagles Sign Wake Forest Defensive Tackle Boo Robinson

Somebody tell Trevor Laws that the Eagles signed another rookie free agent defensive tackle. The Birds continued their search for pass rushers by signing rookie free agent Boo Robinson of Wake Forest.

Like Mike Patterson and Brodrick Bunkley, Robinson is on the small side of defensive tackles at 6’1″ 295, but he showed during his collegiate career that he has the ability to rush the passer.

In college, he totaled 11.5 sacks which is very good for a defensive tackle.  He was selected Honorable Mention as a Atlantic Coast Conference player.

The young man didn’t do much in his senior year because of a back injury.

I think he made a good decision to sign with the Eagles because he has a decent chance to make this roster if he comes in and impresses.

I already mentioned the two starters at the tackle spot, Patterson and Bunkley, add to them big Antonio Dixon and the aforementioned second-round draft pick Laws.

Dixon will be here because he’s the only truly big defensive tackle that the Birds have on the roster, but on the other hand, Laws could be vulnerable to getting cut.

It’s time for him to step up or move on.¬† He’s been a major disappointment.¬† Robinson or the other rookie free agent defensive tackle Jeff Owens from Georgia could end Laws easy ride.

Laws, who came here with great expectations, has allowed Dixon to take his spot as the number one backup.¬† Laws has been so disappointing that last year he didn’t even dress for most of the games.

I hope he knows the clock is ticking.

on a more serious note,
There will be competition all up and down this D/Line this camp..
The only 2 safe spots I see for returning players is T Cole and B Bunkley..
I think every other returning player along the D/Line is going to have to bust butt and earn it..
Fast Forward to Aug 31 (after final custs are made)

DE’s – T Cole, D Tapp, J Parker, B Graham, Teo Neisham, R Sapp
DT’s – Bunkley, Patterson, Dixon and J Owens

Practice squad goes to DE E Moncur and DT B Williams
Veterans released are DT T Laws and DE V Abriami gets a medical release/buyout after being on the “PUP” list all summer long

Dixon And bunkley should be starters. Boo is a camp body..Owens or Laws for last spot..I see the starters on the D Line by start of season will be Cole, Bunkley, Dixon, Graham..and third down package with Cole, teo, Parker, Graham.

Silencer,
Where’s former 1st Round pick Mke Patterson in your rotation
I think the Eagles today should trade DT M Patterson and S Q Demps to the Carolina PAnthers
for CB Richard Marshall which would be a win-win for both clubs and the players…
PAnthers needs DT and Safety and Eagles could have a starting CB in R Marshall

Yeah Paul..I like that idea..I had no spot for Patterson..I don’t like Patterson at all..its time for him to get traded like u said… I like Dixon a lot..he’s that gem that was found, then cut n we grabbed him..he’s a Guy that requires double teams and I think will end up being a starter..with Cole needing doubles And Dixon. Graham and bunks job will be a lot easier and our blitzes will be hat much more effective.

I agree about Patterson,
It seems he has loses a little something every year and has regressed, I do like A Dixon a lot and think
he will see a lot more slaps for he’s big, nasty and takes up space…
(Patterson gets pushed around by opposing teams Center’s most of the time)
