In what has been one of the most improbable runs in Philadelphia Flyers history, this year’s team is now going to the NHL finals against the Chicago Black Hawks.
This club has been on its deathbed a number of times but refuses to die, now they’ve become more and more confident to the point where they believe they can win it all.¬† And why not you’ve got to be in it to win it and the Flyers are in it.
The Flyers came into the game with all the momentum but lost it a bit when the Canadiens scored the first goal to take the lead with about minute gone in the game.
As has happened throughout this run a Flyer has always been there to answer the call.  This time it was Mike Richards who came through as he found a way to grab a loose puck after a collision with a couple of Canadiens.  He knotted the score and drove the crowd crazy.
In the second period, the Wachovia Center was like a hot cauldron for Montreal and there was no way they could escape with the lead.  Aaron Asher and Jeff Carter each found the net with the puck and the noise became ungodly.
Carter’s open netter finished things off after Montreal had made it¬† a one goal game.¬†¬† After the Carter goal is wasn’t noise echoing through the Wachovia Center, it was something else.
It made me wonder what can be done in the finals to upstage tonight’s noise and emotion.¬†¬† Is there any way the Flyers can take this crowd on the road?
Congrats to the Flyers, the Fans and yes, even to Ed Snider …
A great run so far with contributions from across the entire team…What a group of hard-working players
scratching, clawing, diving, blocking and doing whatever it takes to win a game…
Now they have their biggest challenge ahead of them, the Chicago Black Hawks who I predicted would
win Stanley Cup this season when the playoffs started (beating Pittsburgh Penquins)
They are big, fast, fast, fast and have a very active Defense and a very good Goaltender in Niemi…
This will be a great series I believe with some lower-scoring, tight 1 goal games that can go either way…
The Black Hawks do have more talent, goal scorers and speed & size then the Flyers last 3
opponents they have played so far so Goaltending and Defensive play will be even more critical..
I predict the Black Hawks will win the Cup in 6 games
SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!! And thats all I can say cause this a is a PG site. If it were more of a R site Id let you have it. This is the Finals there is no way you can go against your home team. This team is gonna continue to shock the Hockey World. Its not like other sports Will and Grit is how you win the Stanley Cups once you get this far all the in the talent and skill goes out the window.
LETS GO FLYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will always continue to call them as I see them,TEF…
The only advantage the Flyers have is with their Coach., but this is why you play the games,
I will be rooting for the Flyers but I think a rude awakening is about to occur…
Keep your congrats, Paulman. Don’t come on here trying to act judicious because G let you post on the website. Keep your punk, Flyer-hatin self on the Eagles’ posts. You’ve done nothing but bash the Flyers from day one and harp on any and all of their post-season woes. The fact that you even have the nerve to comment on any Flyers post in a positive way shows your character, or lack there of. As two-faced as you are I wouldn’t trust you to watch a load of my laundry while i went to the bathroom. Keep hatin, hater. And we’ll talk to your punk a$$ after the series. No congrats necessary.
Relax Boyer and go have a beer…why are you so pissed, because I’m not ga-ga or a bandwagon fan of the Flyers. I stopped following the Flyers since the Bobbie Clark was the GM years ago.. and yes I will pull for them and am happy for their fans, but they are playing a much better team than their previous opponents and will have to elevate their game and play that much more.. It should be a very entertaining, hard fought close series, the Flyers need to win 1 out of the 1st 2 games in Chicago to have a chance…
