Sixers send Dalembert to the Kings

The Philadelphia Daily News has confirmed that the 76ers have traded center Samuel Dalembert to the Sacramento Kings. In return, they get Andres Nocioni and Spencer Hawes.

A source tells the Daily News that both teams have agreed to the deal, but it hasn’t been officially approved by the league. The NBA will probably be looking at this one very closely because they can’t understand why anyone in their right mind would want Dalembert. I’m joking of course.

Nocioni is a 6-7 forward who averaged 8.5 ppg, 3.0 rpg and a DUI last season. He has a career scoring average of 11.3 ppg.

Hawes is a 7-1 center (what other position would he play at that height?) who will replace the size the Sixers will lose by jettisoning Dalembert. He is entering his fourth year and averaged 10 ppg and 6.1 rpg. It would seem that the Eagles consulted with the 76ers on this deal because Hawes is coming off a knee injury that ended his season in the beginning of April. While it’s not the torn ACL that the Eagles prefer, it is a deep bone bruise with an irregular signal in the joint in his left knee.

After this trade, the Sixers are expected to compete for the right to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals next year.

Love the trade!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted the Sixers to draft Hawes in 07 but he wast taken a couple picks before they got Young. He is gonna be a good one. I just hope they take Turner ive been reading that this may make them take a big.

Ive been reading on ESPN that Collins loves Favors and Eddie likes Turner. Lets hope the GM trys to save his job and take his guy. I dont like Favors at all if there gonna take a big id rather Cousins

Sammy was too up and down, mostly down, a big dissapointment. He did not improve as much as he should have in his time as a Sixer.

Derrick Favors is going to be a outstanding player, Reminds me of Amare a bit while Evan Turner reminds me a lot like Brandon Roy but I think he will turn into a Vince Carter in his Prime come later in his Career. All in all I think the best player will be Evan coming out this years draft, Heres my projected starting lineup

Holiday
Rip Hamilton
Evan Turner
Elton Brand
Maureese Speights.

Best news I have heard in a long time..
Don’t fall asleep on Nocioni who should fit in very well in Collins type of Offense..
Sixers need to Draft E Turner without a doubt, but would not be surprised to hear the big fella from
Georgetown name called.. Greg Monroe…
I call for the SIxers to trade down a couple of spots with either Sacramento or Golen State and pick up another player in return and grab C/F G Monroe…

The only pick here is Turner. Favors may be good, but he is not a good fit. They are stuck with Brand forever and they have Speights.

This is a great trade for the Sixers which would only be dwarfed by getting Iggy out of town.

Phillwill – what would you have liked them to do at the center positionn? Hard to argue against wanting wall or turner but if you hate sammy (again understood) wouldn’t you want them to trade him for a young promising big man? Are you aware they got a center too? And nocione can shoot too. He’s no star but he doesn’t stink.

Phillywill, I would like to follow your post, but without punctuation, I just can’t. It looks like you know a lot, but after a few lines, I just can’t read it. Anyhow, I think the Sammy deal is just moving one big contract for two smaller ones that can be packaged in later deals. The actual players don’t matter as much as the contract size. I doubt if both Hawes and Nocioni will be here as the season starts. One or both will be gone. If Hawes is the starting center, we are in bad shape. Nocioni is a role player at best.
