Westbrook Working Out, But In No Rush To Sign

Former Eagles running back Brian Westbrook seems to be taking his time about signing with an NFL team.  He has talked to the St. Louis Rams, Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins.

The Rams and the Redskins have reportedly made contract offers to Westbrook but he’s not in any rush to sign a deal because that would mean going through an entire training camp.

Westbrook knows he only has a certain amount mileage on his legs, so he doesn’t want anything to do with a full training camp.

Minnesota tight end Visanthe Shiancoe tweeted yesterday about working out with Westbrook and Arizona Cardinals star defensive lineman Darnell Dockett.

I wouldn’t be shocked if a team like the Vikings were to show some interest in Westbrook because they lost their third down back, Chester Taylor,¬† after he signed with the Chicago Bears during free agency.

I would not be surprised if he signs with either the Redksins/Ravens in late August if there is an opporutunity for him to play. Right now both teams have good RB depth but who knows about injuries and the Redskins RB’s corp is older and banged up like #36 is…
Vikings and Packers would be great fit for him as a 3rd Down back and in the pasing game, but no team is going to pay more that the NFL Minimum Salary for his services, I am not so sure that Westbrook would want to return just earning making a veteran minimum Salary..but if he could play close to home (Ravens/Redskins) and have a real opportunity to play, then I think he would go for it..
