While the Philadelphia Phillies and Ryan Howard said all the right things and were optimistic about his ankle injury, the fact that he was on crutches kind of negated those sentiments.
And now we know that the ankle is officially more serious than the team was letting on. Howard has been placed on the 15-day DL retroactive to August 2nd with an ankle sprain.
Hopefully, Phils fans love watching Ross Gload and Cody Ransom, because they’ll be getting a healthy dose of them for the next two weeks. That is, unless the Phillies went out and tried to make a move.
For what it’s worth, Adam Dunn was placed on waivers today according to Buster Olney of ESPN. I seriously doubt the Phils would have interest as I don’t know what they would do with him when Howard got back in the lineup. That’d be one heck of an expensive bench player.
like scorp would say why cant like shneider or valdez get hurt wtf
