Cracked ribs for McCoy, Eagles looking at Lynch?

We all knew that Michael Vick was banged up with chest injuries during the loss to the Washington Redskins on Sunday. But, there was a bit of a surprise that came to today when we learned that RB LeSean McCoy cracked a rib during that game as well.

Andy Reid wasn’t able to say exactly how much time McCoy will miss, but repeated blows to the mid section by men who are three times your size can’t be a good thing when trying to heal ribs.

Mike Bell is the backup, but he hasn’t done much of anything for the Birds this year. Even more telling is this report from Reuben Frank of Phillyburbs.com.

A league source tells Frank that the Eagles have contacted the Buffalo Bills about the availability of RB Marshawn Lynch. Lynch was a first-round pick in 2007 out of Cal and has been very productive in the NFL. The problem is that he’s a bit of a knucklehead and the Bills have tired of his act.

Plus the Bills have Fred Jackson and they spent a first-round pick this year on C.J. Spiller. In short, they don’t need Lynch.

He’s been on the trading block for what seems like forever and there have been no takers. He was linked to the Packers quite a bit when Ryan Grant went down for the season, but the Bills are most likely interested in draft picks. And just FYI, Packers GM Ted Thompson doesn’t get down like that. He is not a fan of jettisoning draft picks.

Howie Roseman might though. Especially if McCoy’s injury is serious enough that he’ll be out a while. And the thought of having to watch Bell for an extended period of time might be enough for the Eagles to meet the Bills’ trade demands.

But how high could those demands really be? They’ve been trying to get rid of Lynch for a while now and no one is interested. And it’s not like they could use him for a playoff run or anything.

I’d love to know what the Bills really want for this guy. Maybe we’ll find out shortly.

Great now Jason Peters might have one of his hang out buddies from the Bills. That’ll improve his attitude…(sarcasm)

Trade them LT J Peters back…
The Sad thing is that even the Hapless BIlls who have a needs along their O/Line probably don’t even want Peters back..
I would trade DT M Patterson for RB M Lynch straight-up in a heart beat…
McCoy will miss 3-4 weeks minimum.. M Bell is a wasted Roster Spot and is too slow footed..
(Eagles should have kept RB C Scott), M Bell reminds me of a Tony Hunt, but more slow and more
indecisive..
I do like FB O Schmitt who appears to be a little qicker and with better hands than L Weaver in my opinion… Haven’t checked on his blocking real close yet, but I like Schmitt a like and he was a good find..

Hmmm. In all honesty a one two punch of a healthy mccoy and lynch i think could be deadly. Plus you would get the added benefit of moving useless …i mean mike bell to your number three. Win win?

Move M Bell right off the Roster,
He has showed us absolutely “Zippo” in his almost 5-6 months as a Eagle…
At least Buckley, Martell, C Scott would at least show an occasional glimpse of promise..
M Bell is a Stiff with a Capital “S”

I would offer DT M Patterson, and S Q Mickell and RB M Bell for RB M Lynch and S Donte Whittier

Wait…don’t we also have M. Bell, E Buckley, J. Bell also on the roster as well as O Schmitt? 3 RB’s and a FB…and we gotta contact another team for another RB when we don’t even run the ball????? WTF???

No surprise they broke McCoy, stupid ass Marty Morhninwig used him just how Gruden used Cadillac Williams. Now we’re going to go get more of Buffalo’s garbage. We already went and got this Joqui Bell. We are so stupid it’s ridiculous.

I wonder if Reid sees this as the perfect opportunity to call 50 consecutive passes.

drummer – For Reid, the wind blowing out of the SSW is the perfect opportunity to call 50 consecutive passes.

That was back in Feb/March T-E-F, when Bell looked promising, and I have been very vocal about him since the OTA’s/Summer camp when it became apparent to me, that he doesn’t have the work ethic, smarts or the desire to become a good player and make an impact in this Eagle system…
He has to have the slowest first step of any running back in the NFL ..
Like with all players, you never really know until the games are here, but many, you can get a sense
of their dedication, drive, smarts and all-out effort to learn a new system for a new team..
I have not sensed any of these with M Bell and when you look at his background (4 different teams in the last 4 years..) it’s not hard to understand why… Release him immediately..

one last thing..
EAgles rushed the ball 25 times for 110 yeards which comes out to a 4.4 yard average
When you take away Vick and Kolb’s 5 scrambles for 38 yards. The RB’s gained 72 years on 20 carries which is a 3.6 Yds per carry which is not going to cut it in the NFL..

I’d rather have EBuck back there and fumble once every 15 carries but fight his ass off for yards than MBell right now.

Mancini…its WHITNER..not WHITTIER…lmao..i like Lynch..hes a good hard runner..forget mike bell..the dude is awful….
I have to vent this off my chest..i dont care wht the topic of the article is..but omg..i love our Defense personel..but my god McDermott sux ass…he has no ability to make adjustments in games..he does a horrible job matching personel packages. And the asshole cannot gameplan against a team to save his life..its like hes calling random plays…f*ck him..we shoulda signed crennel…look at the chiefs now..

Silencer- How exactly do you say he makes no adjustments. The redskins scored on their first 3 drives and then they OH yeah they started getting stopped. The defense is young and needs to get better for sure but the coach made adjustments.

If you want to point out though that we are too freaking small in the front 7 I will agree.

IDK if Justin Fargas is still available. But he would be a good fit for this offense

Mike Bell is awful. He’s slow and doesn’t break any tackles. It’s interesting that your star QB who’s been playing out of his mind and your RB who was the only one able to do anything yesterday. We have to be cursed or something. For the last couple games the Reskins have been beating us up. Last year they knocked BWest unconscious, gave Desean a concussion. And now Vick, McCoy, Samuel, Cooper. Interesting.

Thanks Runtheball for your support as usual…
There’s a RB on the Panther Practice Squad named Josh Vaughn who would be a great fit for this
Eagle Offense, he can run, catch and block and at 6’0-215lbs, has some muscle behind him..
He is 4th on th Panthers Depth Chart behind D Williams,J Stewart and M Goodson so his chances of ever seeing the field in Carolina is remote at best..
I was hoping the Eagles would scoop him up after camp but never did..

The trade to make is Kolb to Arizona for a pick that gets us a DT in next year’s draft. The have nothing at the position and stand to see nothing but empty stands for the next 4 months.

Vince Papale is better than Mike Bell.

Have open tryouts. Somebody from the Catholic or Public league or Temple, Villanova anybody but Bell.

What a bum. He must watch NFL Films because he runs in slow motion all the time!

Unless Lynch can stop the run we don’t need him. Besides he’s going to cost picks and then cash so count out the eagles!! Too cheap for that!

***********Trade Alert*************

Eagles trade DT M Patterson and LB O Gaither to the Buffalo BIlls for RB M Lynch

Eagles then go out and sign free-agent S Michael Lewis who was released by the 49ers last week
Lewis will be the 3rd Safety and maybe push Mickell for playing time..
Eagles will release RB M Bell in 2 weeks when McCoy is healthy and good to play again
Eagles also looking at adding another WR . R Cooper with a mild-concussion may be out this week,
the Eagles currently have 3 healthy WR on the active Roster (D-Jax,Maclin,Avant)
Who would have a thought a month ago that a seemingly position of strength is now actually pretty thin… (they should have kept WR K Washington in the first place over Baskett)
