This has already been a weird day with Donovan McNabb signing a five-year extension with the Redskins with $40 million dollars of it guaranteed. I don’t know anybody who can make sense of that other than Mike Shanahan is paying McNabb not to say anything bad about him and his son, Kyle.
I don’t know how anybody can explain why Shanahan still has his job, but we’ll have to put that on the shelf and get ready for this football game. The Eagles should make easy work of the Skins but like I said this has already been a very strange day.
The Birds must guard against any big plays. Whichever safety is lined up deep had better stay deep. The Redskins are sure to go after Kurt Coleman. The only way Washington wins this game is because of big plays.
Michael Vick will have to be patient and not force anything with his arms or which his legs. I don’t see any way the Skins are able to outscore the Birds if they stay away from mistakes.
It should be very interesting, to say the least.

A couple of musts,
Start fast, maintain good field position and sustain drives (Good 1st Down plays are critical on Offense)
Limit the negative plays,turnovers and penalties, solid Coverage play by Special Teams
Big plays by the Redskin Offense doesn’t concern me as much as their TE’s (Cooley & Davis)
Who is going to run deep patterns (Santana Moss and Joey Galloway please..)
Pressure on McNabn and get him moving to his left, is the key…
Vick needs to take what the Redskins Defense gives him initially with good play calling and execution,work the middle of the field with Celek,Avant,Cooper and then take shots deep once their Safeties start to bite (Which they will) S Landry on the Redskisn is a physical player but will get caught coming up in the box quite a bit in which the Eagles need to take advantage of when he does
and make them pay for it…
The Skins are leading the league in pass plays over 50 yards. I know it will surprise you but the deep pass is their only chance. I expect them to try to induce Coleman to come up and help on the running game.
Fightin’ already…this is gonna be a good one. They were saying on ESPN befoe the game that Hazlet told his players to hurt Vick if he does not slide. He needs to watch out for Landry & Fletcher, both bring the wood.

That was incredible to start like that. That was an incredible throw by Vick. Everybody was wondering whether Vick could keep it up. I guess he answered that on the first play.
I guess DeSean Jackson is going to get another 100 yard day with Vick at the helm.
That was a nice 30 seconds to be a Philly fan. Giroux buries a slapshot on the PP, then I look up from my NHL Gamecenter to watch Vick throw a perfect strike for an 88 yard TD.

Like I said, I expect a blow-out tonight. Redskins’ runners are banged up and we’ve improved our run defense. Without ball control, they’re lost. They have no receiving weapons.

Harsh Micah… McNabb always has some quick feet, that was a good job pressuring him into a turnover. If the first line in your “what I didn’t like” column is going to be “Ernie Sims only pressured McNabb into an interception instead of a sack” it will be a good evening.
